Spider Dance at Brasserie Zedel, Soho

£10 concession rate tickets on Sunday 26 January

Hear the story of two incredible 19th century Soho women, Fanny Kelly and Lola Montez at this production of Spider Dance on Sunday 26 January, 3pm.

Audience members are invited to come on a fantastical journey through the lives and loves, romances and revolutions of one of the great women of the nineteenth century and the woman who was her muse. Their journey began here in Soho.

Lola Montez was famed for her Spider Dance, an extraordinary creation that was part Tarantella, part crazed trance-dance, part erotic performance. It was uniquely the beginnings of both Burlesque and Contemporary dance pre-echoing artists as diverse as Isadora Duncan, Gipsy Rose Lee and Josephine Baker.

Fanny Kelly created the first ever dance and theatre school at the Royalty Theatre on Dean Street, Soho and Lola Montez conquered the world of dance following training at Fanny Kelly's school. The production will be performed by four incredible women including dancers Penny Dimond, Fiona McKinnon, Thereza Hoffmann and accordion player Nia Davies.

The performance will take place at The Crazy Coqs, Brasserie Zedel in Soho on Sunday 26 January at 3pm. Westminster residents will receive concession rate tickets priced at £10 (£15 full price) with a Westminster City Save card as proof of residency.
